Those Darn Cats.

I have six cats. Prior to having the last two, I could generally leave knitting around and no one cared. I suspect this is because I had an alarming amount of stuff sitting around the house, and they sort of didn't care. Forest for the trees kind of thing.

But since we got Kitty and Scout, both wee things of six months, I can't leave a goddamned thing out. The Sock That Would Not Die? I mistakenly left it out on the couch when I went to bed, and woke up to find ALL of the ends of ALL of the needles chewed to hell. Now, usually, they just carry the project around, unwind the ball of yarn, and then sit on it. Nope. This time, one, or more because I think they gang up, of them destroyed brand new wooden DPNs.

So, I looked for sandpaper, couldn't find it, and then put the project away on top of the microwave. I didn't want to deal with it right then.

I got up this morning, and my mom had sanded the needles for me! Which is good because I'm bad at real life things like sanding, cutting, nailing. Except, in the process, she also dropped ... well, a lot of stitches off the end of one needle. And I fixed it. But now it looks like crap. So, I have to ladder them down again and try and pick them up, again, in an orderly fashion.

This sock? Does not want to get made.
